Seeding results from the Oceania Championships in Shepparton. Crashes and punctures were the theme of the day.
The day started off with a practice session before seeding in the afternoon. Practice caught out a few riders, while the track would not be described as technical there are definitely technical sections that require 100% commitment. Troy Brosnan had an over the bars experience in practice that left him cut and bruised. Troy explains; "I went over a blind corner and ended up catching my front wheel on a rock and went over the bars. My head jammed in between two rocks and my leg was still clipped in so the bike decided to land on me, it wasn't that fun!". Troy has been swapping between clips and flats this weekend but decided to continue using the clips as he thinks they give greater benefit for the pedalling sections.

This theme continued during qualifying, Rhys Atkinson ran off the track and got wrapped up in the bunting taking it with him down the track, Cam Cole flatted, he was running "35psi instead of 28 and I still flatted" and in juniors Henry Blake had multiple crashes. It wasn't all bad news as there was some good seeding results; Will Rischbieth continues his come back after injury, seeding in 3rd "it was smooth and I hit all my lines" and Dave McMillan seeded 3rd in juniors, an excellent result. Dave had this to say about his run "it was pretty good, consistent the whole way down, I kept my feet clipped in for all the corners so I could power out".
